About Me:
JENNA ROCHEL
Certified Pilates Teacher
My fascination with health and fitness dates back to before I can even remember. What I *can* remember is that my relationships with health and fitness were not always healthy ones. I loved feeling the benefits of consistent and thoughtful movement, but disliked almost all of the forms of exercise I had tried thus far.
For a brief period, I got into hot yoga. Then I tried CrossFit. Then boxing. Then Zumba. I even went and bought weights and resistance bands so that I could “work out at home.” I felt like I was putting in my maximum level of effort with minimal results. I wasn’t feeling nimble; I still felt as though daily activities were more challenging than they should be. Things like maintaining my posture, flexibility, balance… little things like that.
I felt like I was “working out” - but to me it was often repetitive, predictable, and boring. And what's more, I still felt slouchy and stiff. I would still moan and groan when trying to keep up with my kids, whether it was at the trampoline park (or any place for that matter) - I did not want to be the parent just sitting on the sidelines.
The year was 2021. My birthday had just passed (so it was the beginning of March, for those of you who don't know me personally). The world was just starting to catch its breath after the ripple effects of the pandemic. I was looking for meaningful ways to get back into fitness. Being someone whose weight has fluctuated greatly throughout my life, exercising was always on my mind but rarely in my heart.
Enter: PILATES. I was scrolling through Instagram one bland afternoon, when I saw an ad for Club Pilates offering a *free* intro class.
I took my first intro class at the Club Pilates in North Naperville, IL. As soon as I walked in, my fears subsided. I was welcomed by a smiling woman at the front desk, then shown to a reformer. The instructor helped me get situated, and adjusted the reformer so that it would be comfortable for *my* body. Meaning, I did not have to fit into a mold. And that's when I realized, Pilates is something that can be customized for anyone. It is a type of exercise that EVERY BODY can do!
I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to turn my passion into a thriving profession that makes me feel fulfilled inside and out. I officially completed a vigorous 500-hour Pilates Teacher Training Certification through Club Pilates in February 2023!
I currently teach at a few different Club Pilates locations: Elmhurst, Woodridge, Westmont, Oak Park, and more! In addition to my studio time, I also have an in-home studio equipped with a Balanced Body Reformer as well as a Balanced Body Pilates Chair, in addition to some other fun props!
